Dawn Patrol - Monday through Saturday, 7:00 - 8:30am
The sun rises over the garden during Dawn Patrol as yoga students greet the day! A typical early morning class
consists of 3 segments in an open-learning environment. The first 30 minutes involves "free-style yoga play".
During this time students are invited to utilize the wall ropes, pelvic swing, and other yoga equipment available, or
practice poses. New students will be shown how to use the equipment in ways appropriate to their level of experience.
During the second 30 minutes, we do Sun Salutations or the "Five Tibetan Rites" which is an ancient routine from
Tibet that has helped thousands of people achieve new levels of energy plus relief from many of the effects of stress
and aging. A total body workout consisting of five dynamic exercises for health, energy, and personal empowerment,
the routine requires about 15 minutes once learned. Weather permitting - this portion of morning sessions is done
on an outdoor elevated deck overlooking the beautiful organic gardens and lake. The final 30 minutes of the class
highlights asana practice focusing on poses selected by the teacher followed by a deep relaxation period.

Universal Yoga is a unified scientific approach to achieving liberation of consciousness through a balanced application of physical, energetic and psychic practices. This system reflects Andrey Lappa's experience with spiritual teachers of the Hindu and Tibetan Buddhist traditions of the Himalayas, his decades of personal practice and research, and his belief in complete freedom and creativity in practice.
Universal Yoga is not a separate school or philosophy of yoga, rather it unites the best parts of other existing styles and schools, along with practical life experience. The basis of this style lies upon a continuously developing model, taking into account any precious practical information which can come from anyone and anywhere. Therefore, the of practice this style can be various and can vary depending upon the practitioner's motivations and goals. The practice of Universal Yoga underlies the growth of power of spirit, knowledge, awareness and the struggle to freedom. Most importantly, practice of Universal Yoga is centered upon on the moral and spiritual perfection of yoga practitioner.

Chris Gianino has been practicing yoga since 1997, when he wondered if yoga might help his rock climbing. Since then, he has focused less and less on rock climbing and more and more on yoga. His approach to yoga is that of physical strengthening through dynamic movement while learning how to increase and direct the flow of Prana through the body. His classes and creative sequencing help students to develop the strength and endurance necessary for meeting the challenges of both asana and life with an open heart and calm breath.
