Program Description:

Universal Yoga is a logical, multi-faceted system that can be used by anyone. The Part 1 Universal Yoga Studies intensive will focus on different substyles with practices that challenge experienced students and are accessible to all levels of practitioners. In this immersion, each morning you will experience challenging multi-dimensional sequences to support your capacity towards development. Afternoon sessions include theory and discussion, followed by 45 minutes of the Dance of Shiva. The Dance of Shiva is an ancient practice re-discovered by Andrey in Nepal and introduced into the modern world. The movements of the Dance of Shiva form the basis of all the south Asian martial arts and dance forms.

This 12-day Universal Yoga journey offers practical tools to spark the desire for self-searching in all students, techniques for the attainment of high spiritual aspirations and excellent physical health, and abundant detail to provide a multi-faceted approach that will enhance any teacherís skill.

Certification and Continuing Education Information for Yoga Teachers:

• Teacher training certification is approved by the national Yoga Alliance at the 200-hour level after completion of Part 1 and Part 2.
• A final exam is required following each Part to receive a Universal Yoga teaching certificate. The exam fee is $65.
• Part 1: following the completion of all days of the Part 1 Universal Yoga (U.Y.) training and passing the final exam, you will receive a U.Y. certificate for Level 1 that allows you to to teach beginning U.Y. classes & basic Dance of Shiva movements.

• For participants who do not wish certification, a letter stating the number of hours completed in this Part 1 training is available for continuing education or tax purposes.

Sample Daily Schedule:

WEEKDAYS

• 8:00am ñ 10:30am:   Morning Practice
• 10:30 ñ 12:30pm:   Break
• 12:30 ñ 4:00pm:   Afternoon Theory
• 4:15 ñ 5:00pm:   Dance of Shiva Practice

SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS

• Same morning practice and break, extended afternoon session, 12:30-7:30pm.

Fees:

Part 1 Intensive, 12 days

• Early registration if received by August 1, 2008: $1,300.
• Regular registration after August 1st : $1,500.

To reserve your space, send a 50% deposit, or pay the full amount.

• The balance of your registration fee is due 4 weeks prior to the event.
• Refunds will be given up to 30 days before the event, minus a $30 registration fee.
• Cancellations after that time will be refunded only when your space is filled, less the $30 fee.
• Cancellations within one week of the event will not be refunded; however, fees paid will be credited to another workshop or event, less the $30 registration fee.

Single Session Fees:

• Morning Asana practice (8:00am ñ 10:30am): $60
• Week-day afternoon theory/philosophy lectures: (12:30-4:00 pm): $70
• Weekend afternoon theory/philosophy lectures: (12:30-7:00 pm): $90
• Afternoon Dance of Shiva classes (Weekdays 4:15-5:00pm): $20
• Afternoon Dance of Shiva classes (Weekends 7:15-8:00pm): $20

Day pass (all sessions): Weekday: $125, Weekend: $150

Individual consults and private sessions with Andrey Lappa are available upon request. Fees negotiated directly with Andrey.
